Default Texas Wood Carvers or Stick Makers

Are there any Wood carvers or Stick makers in the Huntsville or Trinity area of Texas? I just moved to Trinity from Texas City and the closest carving club I can find is about 60 miles away. Would love to either join or start a club for carvers and stick makers in the Huntsvile or Trinity area of Texas. Closest club I can find meets at a college some 60 to 70 miles away and that is just too far to drive. Any one know of a closer club or interested in forming 1, contact me here or email me direct
bigwaynep51@aol.com
I was in the Galveston County Woodcarvers and enjoyed the fellowship and comradiarty and learned a great deal whule in that club and would love to do the same thing here in Trinity
I have done internet searches and found nothing in this area.
Teaxas Woodcarvers Guild of which i am not a member does not list anything in this area either. I talked with the guys that work at Woodwright and learned that there used to be other clubs in this area but the membership was small so they all merged and formed 1 big club. I am sure there are others that feel as i do that the distance is too great to go and enjoy being with oher carvers and enjoy the time spent just carving and having fun. # of Members is not as important as what 1 can get out of being with other carvers and friends in a smal group.
Thanks
Wayne
