so today i am out in the shop having a good day of carving, with pencil in hand and a peice of 2x2 basswood i set out sketching the body portion of this carving after having gotten the head blocked out,, so i am just a drawing away, feet, arms, hands and such so i can block them out. so i get them all drawn out, and proceed to take one last look before laying blade to wood, and something just doesnt look right so i am justa studying and realize i have drawn the body backwards from the head, thats right his feet was sticking out the wrong side with his arms along with it. so has this ever happened to ya'll bart |

Not that but when I used to build model airplanes I, more than once, built two left wing halves. When I went to combine the two halves into a full wing the exclamation was not very pretty. I think we get so involved with the detail we forget the whole picture sometimes until we step back. Hey, you are just a human being, you know. We learn from our mistakes. Betcha never do that again.

I guess you won't know if your coming or going..At least you didn't get to cut it out that way.

Nope but I've heard this over and over "there's no rules in carving" so go for it!
