| | Tagua nuts Has anyone carved Tagua nuts? I was talking with the pyrography Sue Walters from Australia Sunday at the ICC (actually bought a burned tagua nut charm from her) and she said they carve well with diamond burrs. Has anyone done this?

| | Re: Tagua nuts Bob, I have 'sort of' carved tagua nuts....made bolo style retainers for crusher type hats. sliced the nut into thin 3/8' sections, then carved the Philmont brand emblem into them with a small carbide burr. worked real well as far as carving goes, but the durn things finally gave out due to getting wet from rain and sweat!
Still have a couple in my work box waiting for some inspiration!

| | Re: Tagua nuts What are the best bits to use? I have a dremel but really haven't used it that much, so I don't know really anything about the power carving. Is there a good site on power carving bits?
