| | Survey request on Wood site Hope this doesn't get deleted, because it regards another publication, but here goes. Â*I subscribe to Woodcarving Illustrated and USED to subscribe to Wood, also, when they had a few wood carving articles each year. Â*Now I don't because they don't, but I still check in on their woodcarving discussion group regularly.
They are requesting carvers (and woodworkers) fill out a survey on which tools we would like to see reviewed. Â*I think that was mostly for power tools, but I submitted it with carving tools in mind and filled out the text portion encouraging carving tool evaluations. Â*
Check at www.woodmagazine.com Â* Â*on the woodcarving discussion group and fill it out. Â*Maybe they'll put some more carving related articles in.

| | Re: Survey request on Wood site Yep, that's what they had, and I filled out only the 'high' value items that could possibly reflect on carving tools. Â*Then in the text portion, I gave about 10 or 12 ideas about evaluating CARVING TOOLS, and listed what I wanted to see in the mag regarding carving. Â*It used to be a good all around wood magazine, but since they quit printing any carving articles I let my subscription lapse. Â*I still check the news stand each month to see if they have anything I'd be interested in, though.
If we carvers don't give them some flak, they are NEVER going to get more carving articles.
I think you need to complete the tool survey and submit that page before the next text page comes up, but I forgot how that worked exactly

| | Re: Survey request on Wood site Instead of the survey, I went to the magazine and the customer service email...I sent them an email asking for articles and maybe even a plan or sketch, and an evaluation of woodcarving tools and especially power sharpening tools for carving knives and chisels....they just acknowledged my email and said they are sending it to editorial....so will see! |
