In the interim, here are the winner's of the 2009 show. Woodcarvers - How To Teach Wood Carvers If you go to our web site you can see photographs of the winners from the past 5 or 6 years.

Wish I lived in Florida. It looks like you have some very talented carvers in your club.

Hal.... It's been my limited experience that there are talented carvers all over this wonderful country of ours. If you're not a member of a club in your area then I suggest that you try to find one, form one, or at least make a special effort to visit an area that has one. There is so much to be learned from associating with fellow carvers no matter what their level of expertise or the type of carving they prefer. Remember, there's no one that you meet along the way that you can't learn something from!Good luck!

Dave.... They call me the lone wolf or was that the ugly wolf? Ha! Ha! No seriously, For one I'm in the same boat as you. My brother is coming in from up north so we'll be attending the show Saturday morning and early afternoon but that will be it. I don't enter any of my projects and I don't exhibit. I can't sit for that long so I just go down to enjoy what the other guys carve, see what the vendors have to offer, and attend any demo's that are put on.

CB... It's all relative and I don't mean the kind that stop over at the house and eat up all your vittles! This is the forecast for tonight. We're under a hard freeze and wind chill advisory and in some parts of the Suncoast north of us they had sleet and snow today. In fact they ran a marathon over in Orlando at Disney World in the sleet. 1am 29° 2am29° 3am 29° 4am 29° 5am 29° 6am 28° I've got all of my potted plants, peppers, tomatoes, zuchinni and the wife's herbs in the shed under the lights and the rest that are in the ground and in rasied beds wrapped in sheets hoping for the best! And before I go to bed I'll have to go outside and drip the faucets so that the exposed piping doesn't freeze up. This is not supposed to happen in Florida!
