Default Such A Deal!!!!

I was wandering about Bass Pro Shops in Mobile the other day and happened upon a pair of Bass Pro Shops' fillet gloves similiar to the Rapala (Normark) Glove that I currently use for carving. The difference is that the Bass Pro model comes as a pair which can be worn on either hand and is less than half the cost of just the one Rapala glove. Both gloves appear the same and the Bass Pro model is advertised as being steel yarn. Time will tell if it holds up as well as the Rapala glove. Given that it was two gloves for the price of one I just had to try them! Anyone had good or bad experience with these gloves?

I have no experience with them but I'll be waiting to hear your reports after you try 'em out.

Thanks Eddy for the tip, mine was getting a little worn, so thought I would give it a try. Ordered it online and should have it in a few days. Merle

Merle...

I just started using mind. Like any glove they are going to need a break in period to really feel comfortable but so far so good. Let me know how you make out.

I've been using a pair of those gloves for a few months now and haven't had any problems. After a couple of uses they get nice and flexable on your hand. You're right about the cost, I think I paid about 7 bucks Cdn. for mine.

Wow, great tip. This will be easier than stitching up the holes in my glove. Thanks Eddie and everyone else. I live close to a Bass Pro shop so I'll definitely check it out. Cool!

Just keep in mind that no glove is fool proof and no glove will stop a puncture. The way I look at it I wear a glove just so that I don't suffer the consequences when I do something really, really stupid!

Eddy, haven't tried the bass pro gloves but maybe I should have. I bought a pair of Kevlon gloves NENPHIS made in Mexico used them once, slipped off the wood cut right though the glove and sliced the end of my finger. They were also a pair for cheap.

MA, burning and carving is not the same as playing with matches and knives.
