| | Successful Woodcarvers Gathering! Hi all,
I just wanted to say that the Woodcarvers Gathering that my gallery sponsored on Feb. 18th was successful, had carvers show up, carve and get along great, and was so much fun that we'll do it again each month! You never know what's gonna happen when you start these things......whew!
If you would like to see the few pictures that I posted on my web site of it, the link is: http://www.funkychickenartproject.com/wcg.htm
Thor
p.s. I also registered for my first classes / seminar down in Florida at the Suwannee River Woodcarvers Round up next month! I'm very excited to be going.
Is anyone else from this forum planning on attending that event?

| | Re: Successful Woodcarvers Gathering! Looks like you've started a carving club like thing. I'd be there in a heartbeat if only I were about 5 or 6 hours closer.
Very inspiring and thanks for sharing! |

When and where is the Swannee River Carving Event? Maybe I can get to it depending on dates.
It'd be good to run in to you there!

| | Re: Successful Woodcarvers Gathering! I wish everyone on this board could have come....I talked about you all, and encouraged the folks who came to join the WCI board, and shared my WCI magazines and my carving books too.
HI Wade,
I actually heard about it on another message board, but it is listed on the event calendar on WCI.
The web site address is: http://www.geocities.com/podea_2000/
I'm going for the entire 6 days, and my husband will go fishing while we're camping there. I made reservations on Saturday at the campground it is filling up quickly. It's at Manatee Springs State Park....not too far from you. Good line up of classes in what looks like a nice "warm" atmosphere.
I hope you can make it. It sure sounds like fun.

| | Re: Successful Woodcarvers Gathering! LOL had to go to the internet to find out about a class in my own backyard. I work in Chiefland and had not heard about this! For those of you that come you will see how funny that is because this is not a big area.
The sad thing is as close as it is I probably can't make it because work is going to be very busy during those dates. |
