Default Story Stick

If you make one of these for any relatives be prepared to make some more. This is my third carving of this type...the little ones really like them. This Story Stick or Talking Stick is called Mother Nature. As usual, I put a story together to explain what the parts of the carvings represent. I still need to add the beads and feathers. The wood came from a wooden dowel I had sitting in the shop. I believe the wood is poplar that I picked up at a hardware store somewheres. Not great wood to work with but fine for this type of carving.

Hi Patrick,
This is so well done. The carving is so smooth and finished looking, and I always enjoy a story with a carving.
Please let us see it again with the other details added that you mentioned.

Very nice idea, Patrick. I may do that for my grandchildren. They would love it!
By the way, I looked at your web site, it is wonderful! Your female face in the 2008 gallery is quite an accomplishment!

Way to go there Patrick, as usual another winner for sure. Of course I wouldn't expect any less than a winner from you at any time.

Great job, Patrick! The face at the top is outstanding. What was the diameter of the dowel?

I better finish this one soon as my neice's daughter is expecting it in the mail any time now. I noticed that you can't see the various greens on the animals, or the colors on the female. The lady bugs stand out however. Bob, the diameter of the dowel is one and a quarter inches.
Thanks for viewing my carving everyone.
Patrick
