Default Story to Accompany 5-minute owl carving

Maybe not the best topic area to ask this question...But!
Has anyone heard the story that can be told by the carver when carving the 5 minute owl for a child. I seem to remember a story that went along with each of the carving steps. It was more a series of questions that were asked by the carver, and answered by the child watching?

If I cannot find the story, I'll have to write one myself....Anyone ever heard it and/or have a copy??? Or have I lost my mind??

Thanks,

Tom H

Perhaps those are two different issues...

Well, I thought I remembered a carver telling me he told a story to the kids as he demonstrated carving/whittling the little 3/5 minute owl. The story cooresponded with each of the carving steps. I think it's a neat idea anyway. Since I am probably dreamin the whole thing, I'll just go ahead and script a story of my own.

Hey Tom,
Are ya feeling OK ;O). Are dreams clouding your reality? Welcome to the club ;O))))).
If ya script your own story be prepared for the child's questions, Such as "Is it done yet?'

Since I seem to have lost my memory, about hearing the story to accompany the 3 minute owl carving; I decided that it was still a neat idea and put one together.

If interested, click on "Beginners carving and beyond" in my signature.

That's a good story and neat way to make the carving even more memoriable for the kids. I'm sure they will really enjoy hearing it. Of course, I would have to talk REAL slow. Thanks for sharing.

Good story Tom! One suggestion: Change "birds of pray" to "birds of prey."
... or maybe carve them with their wings together like folded hands.
