Default Still another carousel horse

I've just finished this Armoured Jumper carousel horse from Jerry Reinhardt's book. It's about the most technical horse I've done. This is the first carving that I've used a woodburning tool on. The horse is about 9' long by about 8 1/2' tall not including the base or the brass pole.

Really nice work, Dave! I have some of these patterns and am just too timid to start one.....your's are great, and sure make me want to try. What kind of wood did you use?

Al,

I carve exclusively in Basswood and paint with acrylic paints.
