Default Stick Stalking Saturday - daily post 3/20

Just threw the 'stick stalking' in for Big Wayne . I'm off to work, probably a long day. May get time to add a coat of paint to some carvings afterwards, not sure. Tomorrow I'm going to a woodcarving show - yippee! it'll be fun to see what's out there.
What are YOU up to this weekend ?

I have 2 carvings at a local art show today. It's a mixed medium show so it should be fun to see what's out there for local artists. Later Gergie,

Took the grandson to the annual Sportsmans Show in Toronto today great day out with the grandson he is just interested in everything, Back home now worn out but hope to carve some more tonight I should finish the grizzly bear and a few more hiking staffs and put the final finishing touches to two woodspirits. When I am finished I will take some pictures and post along with a picture of my messy, messy, messy shop after I have taken the pictures I will attempt to clean it up but should have it back to normal messy in about two hours.

It was a beautiful spring day in North Georgia today. My wife had just started mowing the grass in the front yard on the riding mower (Bless her heart!) and I had just sat down in the shade to start carving my first woodspirit on a walking stick. A 'cool one' (coke) was by my side and the creative juices were starting to flow when there was a loud BANG from the front yard and a lot of yelling from my wife.. I casually unseated myself and putting down my 'cool one' ambled down to the front yard to see what all the commotion was about.
My wife was sitting on the mower with a large cloud of blue smoke engulfing her.... the mower had blown it s engine and had a large hole in the crankcase...
I had a vision of a new set of 'flexcut' chisels planned, but now i see that a new $1200 mower engine will be my next purchase!! It's either that or 'I' will be using the push mower next week !!!
:P :P

Well I went down and set up on the side of the road and tried to sell some sticks
Had no luck
Did manage to de-bark about 5 or 6 while sitting there watching the traffic go by tough.

Hi All,

Well this weekend I have returned to my first project...a Santa I started during the week between Christmas and New Years...made some real progress saturday and was about work on it again this evening when i was told I needed to fire up the grill (a New Braunfel Silver Smoker) after a day of helping a friend get a load of old carpeting and padding to the dump...and then helping my daughter and friends split and stack fire wood for next winter... so that was my weekend. Later this week I will take some pics of my Santa project and set up a picture trail to post them on...Later good people!
