Default Started out as Santa, Ended up Eagle

Size 6"x2.50"x2.50", from Basswood, finished Blo,Acrylic Paint, and Watco Dark Wax. I started to make a Santa about a yr. ago and made a cut that was in a spot that made me stop. I knew the piece would be good for something but didn' know till the other day when I saw a picture of an Eagle and felt it would fit in this piece of wood. The American Eagle is my favorite Bird so it held my interest. Your comments are always welcome. Merle

i think youhave done a fine job-- both with the carving and salvaging a piece that might have become firewood

Nice looking eagle. If you hadn't told us I would think it was always meant to be an eagle.

Old Santa never looked that good!! OHH??? But one thing?? This eagle does and you did a nice job my ole friend !! Its hard making something come out at times but one thing you sure turned this carving into a super neat one!! Plus your painting makes him breathe just right.

Keep up that great work Merle.
