Default Spoon Carving Patterns

I am a chip carver who is taken with spoon carving. I have all the books published on the subject (1, Adler's). I have been on the Spoonlady's site, as well as Lora Irish's. So I have pretty well exhausted the well for spoon patterns.

But there must be carvers out there that have some others. Would you be interested in sharing. I am willing to pay whatever costs, mailing, copying etc.

Fox-Chapel has a new book coming out this month sometime, so I am waiting for it.

Thanks for your help!

Mack C.

Mackc, I share your frustration. I finally just decided to make my own patterns by using the spoon end of one pattern and drawing my own handle designs. You can carve almost anything on the end of the spoon, or even make it smooth and chip carve it. Spoons are a great way to venture into making your own unique carvings. Celtic patterns work well and there are a host of Celtic pattern sites on the web. Acanthus leaves are another good subject for spoon handles. When you run out of someone else's designs, it's time to make your own!

Try a web search on google.com images for love spoons. I like Adler's patterns, and there are enough of them to keep me going for awhile, but there are many other ideas on the web. I like some of the chain versions; it's on my to do list.......
