Well it's March 1 and this is the day that all the spoon carvers are gonna show the spoons they've made in the past 3 weeks under The Spoon Challenge Heading. My First pic show the group of spoons I've made including 3 coffee scoops for family. Cliff see next post |

Here's mine - walnut, finished with a few coats of olive oil. The corners have a different radius: one corner is a 1/4 inch radius, and the other is a 1/2 inch radius, so the spoon can get into the "corner" of pots that have rounded "corners" at the bottom or nearly square "corners". Claude |

Ok, here go some of my beginner spoons. All of these were carved out of green apple wood pruned from a neighbors tree. Please excuse my sorry excuse of picture taking......I need a light tent I guess. The first two pictures are of a spoon that is 16" long with a spiral carved handle. The second picture is of various spoons that are 13" long, 15" long and 9 inches long respectively. All of these were done in the last 3 weeks. The spiral handled one I did this past week specially for the challenge. I wanted something different for the challenge so I carved it like a vine had grown wrapped around it. Steven |

Howdy all. Carved this spoon out of an alder tree blocking the view from my workshop driveway. It has some pin knots but the spoon was just an experiment - never carved a spoon before. It was inspired from when I saw a raven steal an egg from a fish boat a while back.
