Default Spoiled

We are a spoiled group of woodcarvers in the USA. I just returned from a short vacation down to Epcot in Orlando . While down there I sat inand watched a wood carver from mexico cutting out a figure with a machette. When he got it small enough he then switched to a knife and made his figure. The man from Kenya used a small hand axe with a blade maybe 3/4 of an inch and was hacking out beautiful Tigers lions and elephants. He then used chisels and a small knife to finish his work. His stain of choice was shoe polish and buffed to a high shine. I sit looking at my band saw and foredom carvers and bits and just shake my head. LOL, so before ya complain any more think about them and what they use. Hmmm I was thinking about that new denny knife I saw. Chuckle.

I have seen some carvers from Central America and S. E. Asia, and you would never guess what their vise is................their feet. You said it, SPOILED. A good many European carvers only have 4 or 5 chisels.

It's not about what you have...

It's how you use it.
