Default Spit and Whittle

I was wondering if I'd met any of you at the Spit and Whittle (in Bow, WA) last weekend? The annonymous nature of this message board, being what it is, I could be walking right by any of you and not even know if you're someone that I've chatted with on here. Unless of course I mention to every person I meet that I regulary read (although I don't often contribute) the WCI discussion forum, that is...

Anyone?

Hi Scooter!
Hopefully we did get a chance to chat a bit while I was waiting for Gil and Bonny Drake to set up their booth... I visited the annual Spit and Whittle get together for the second year in a row...regrettably, I didn't get a chance to stick around and take a class or two, but was fortunate enough to pick up a number of new gouges and a rather nice new knife from Gil...makes 7 of his knives in all...just love them!!! I did have an opportunity to see and visit with several friends and even met a couple new ones too... Anywho, hope you had a great time and enjoyed the company of fellow carvers and the beautiful settings there at the Spit and Whittle Show... if we didn't chat, maybe next year!
Safe carving to you!!!
Kenn

You have a nice website. Love your Santa's and NW designs. I seem to be stuck here on the other side of the state. Maybe I'll get to go to some events next year.

Thanks Kris.

Kenn, this was my first S&W. Did a couple little projects. The sessions were only three hours long, so the projects had the be kept simple. The one takeaway I'm excited about was soapstone carving. I'd never done that before, so I picked up a few pieces to carve at home. Yes, the surroundings are very pretty there.

And Kenn, _only seven???_ You saw that big rig Gil and Bonnie are driving in? I swear that was paid for by the number of Drake tools I've bought over the years (just don't tell Mrs Scooter).

Yeah Scooter...Gil's big Dodge rig is nice! Did you notice it was filled with his work though? Can't imagine all the time and effort they go through to keep wood carvers like us happy...never ending task for sure! Gil and Bonnie are sure nice folks and I certainly enjoyed chatting with them at the S & W. I envey you if you've got more than 7 of thier knives, but hey, I've only been carving for about a year...still time to catch up! Ha!
We'll have to chat for sure next year at the event! Save carving to you and yours!
Kenn
