Does anybody know were I could order a speed control for either the Dremel or Black and Decker RTX tool? Could the footcontrol from a old sewing machine work?

That foot control should work, or you can use one of those dimmer switches for lights; the one with the round knob and push/on....push/off. A lot of harware stores (Tru-Valu, Home Depot, etc), carry those portable belt clip speed controls. check the local hardwares before paying shipping.

Hi Ray, I demo for Dremel so I have every thing they make in the way of goodies. You will need a control that is ratted for at least 2 or 3 AMPs to handel the Dremel. Most sewing machine controls are no more than one and a half. they will work but they will over heat in a short time. You might check Harbor Freight harborfreight.com they have a 1/4 motor flex shaft machine with a 6 AMP foot controll for about $60.00 it is a good machine, the foot control alone is worth it.

Thanks for the info about harbor freight. I didn't see it though on their web site, can you give me the model number of the tool?
