My very first carving was a cowboy boot and I hope you can see a little improvement in these from that first one which is actually in my avatar Fun projects and I have 2 more sets of these to do. Anyway, thanks for looking!

Corey, they look great and I like the grain. What wood did you use? It does not look like basswood, at least to me.

Thanks for the kind words Jim.

Frank, thanks and they are basswood. Finished with blo with a touch of stain added that did bring out the grain.

MA, burning and carving is not the same as playing with matches and knives.

Man, I wore out a pair like them. A Boot was also my first carving many years ago. It's a toothpick holder now. I stumbled into "Smokey Mountain Woodcarvers" in Tennessee, bought a knife and some wood and been carving ever since. They are awesome people to deal with. One thig about it, You'll be able to give your buddies 'the-boot'.

Corey,

The boot was my first project too. Looks like you did a fine job on those pairs. Did you stain them?

Dianna they are finished with oil and a touch of stain in it. Then light coat of lacquer.

Thanks Dianna and Pracuss!
