Was talking to a friend who said that SOAKING wood before carving was a good idea. I DO spray end grain before cutting, but SOAKING? Anyone any experience of this? |

It is true that leaving a timber of water serves to remove the sap while avoiding the slots. The old trunks left in rivers to avoid cracking. FRENCH : C'est vrai que de laisser un bois dans de l'eau permet d'évacuer la sève tout en évitant les fentes. Les anciens laissaient les troncs dans des rivières afin d'éviter les fentes.
