sorry I should have explaned a little more. About four years ago I bought a realy nice swiss made gouge a #6 I think. I do a lot of relief carving and have only used it and few chisels. a few more tools would make it a lot easier. some diferent sizes of gouges, a V gouge, maybe a skew or bent chisel. So I figure I'll get a small set. I want something that I can beat on and usualy carve in hard wood. -silas |

From the picture I still say the buck bros and the henry taylors could be sent to Rick to reprofile and sharpen and you might be surprised.......imho

Hi_HO, Your opinion is worth quite alot to me! The Henry Taylors are in excellent shape with great edges. I don't use them often but they are always in my carving tool kit for when I do want them. I wouldn't change the profile on these as they are perfect for my style of carving. The Buck Bros. chisels are in my "good tools" kit ... that's my set that is currently set aside because they are not the type of tools I am using now. I would hate to change the profiles of these as they are good tools and one day I may decide to pick up the mallet. Now, as for my junker set, they were not included in that image that I posted. They're stored away in the shop in a "don't know what to do with these yet, but can't throw them away" kit ... I may, indeed, go grub them out and sent them off to Rick.Susan |

Wow - Rick/Gord I humbly stand corrected! I'd never seen these before! These do in fact look like the full sized ones you were referring to... might have to bid... rales
