Here is another golf tee that I did today. These are fun and quick. I painted this one with a sharpened toothpick. Wondering if anyone else ever tried carving one of these things? Mark

Mark, I like to carve small, but that's insane. But so, so neat! What kind of knife do you use? Tom H |

Thanks for the feedback. Curt, I think the secret to not breaking it is take your time. Still,it only took me about twenty minutes. Of course you want to take care with your knife that close to your fingers! Tom H. For the pencils that I carve I use a small CASE pocket knife. For these I used a small xacto knife; the one with the smallest pointed blade. Then I make only slicing cuts, using only the tip of the blade. Those xacto blades are extremely sharp, and with patience you can produce good detail using only the tip. Mark

Robert, The carving is pretty straightforward. The painting I think is the most difficult. I whittled the end of a toothpick until it was just a thin shaving. THen I used a magnifying glass to enlarge it while I painted. One good thing is that I didn't have to use much paint!!! Shadi, Pretty much micro chips. Since I use a slicing motion for all my cuts. I will try to take some picks of the little pile of chips the next time. Mark
