Default Silly Santa

Carving Santas is an interesting area of Carving. I like it. This is GaryMcs Pattern. It is from Basswood, 9"x 6". Coated with Sanding sealer, rubbed with fine Steel Wool, then Wax and Feed. Was going to paint with Acrylic Paint thinned down as a wash, but after doing his eyes, I felt that was enough. Another piece of Merles Eye Candy. Thanks Gary. Merle

OHHHHHHH MAN!! Merle!! This carving is just down right great carving that you did .DOESNT need a drop of paint on it! Its really such a well done and detailed carving and I just love EVERYTHING about it. The hair ,the beard, his eyes, his cap, Im telling you its everything! What a great piece of art work this is, its a sculpture not just some simple carvings! "NICE" work Merle! Forrest

P.S If I could carve like this,I would break my paint brushes and throw away all my paints! Really~

Gary, I didn't realize the original size, so making it bigger didn't enter my mind. I make my objects the size that is easier for me. I appreciate you Carvers that can do it, but to small for me. Hope I did your Pattern Justice. Thanks Merle

Hey Forrest, Don't ever break your Paint Brushes. To many people enjoy your work. I appreciate your very Kind words. I read somewhere that you have to know when to stop on your project. That's hard to do at times, so when I painted the Eyes it said Stop, and I did. To be perfectly honest, I'm not that good at Painting. Thanks Again. Merle
