Default silly mistakes

anyone else make dumb mistakes sometimes? A few years back I carved a santa and was carving the hands seperate. I carved two nice hands, problem was they were both the left one ( I did notice before I glued them in though). The reason I remembered this is I pulled another one yesterday. Finishing the boots on a charcature I am doing, I made a stop cut for the heel notch, then proceeded to slope the boot from the heel to the stop cut. :P I did manage to discise that boo boo as well. Good thing I like this stuff or I could get frustrated real easy. Anyone in the market for a left hand?

Gee, Dave, I've NEVER made a silly mistake! Â*At least none that I was able to correct as easy as yours. Â*Most of mine have involved power tools and injuries, so I'm not going to elaborate on my stupidity. Â*suffice it to say that I'm still in possession of all extremities, although some are in various stages of scarring! Â* :'( was Â* Â* is!

I have made more mistakes than you can shake a whittled stick at. Tried to learn from each of them, though. Amazing what you can do with wood filler, epoxy putty, and some paint!

You're right Capt. and Super Glue works wonders on small lacerations, too! Stings a bit, though. Wonders of modern science.

Oh, ya, Bandaids still work too; keep the chips flyin'!

I read once that a wise man learns from his mistakes. Accepting that this statement is true, then I understand it to say that even WISE men, make mistakes, they simply have the wisdom to learn from them.
Gave myself a headache on this one, think I'll lie down.

Could have a point there Captain, at the very least it has got to be cheaper ,as well as less painful.

Not that I've been in the carving biz long, but 'twas a very silly thing to do when I began whittling on a block of wood before I knew what I was going to carve. I finally came up with one thing and had to change my mind due to the dimensions, leaving the finished miniature with a permanent stop cut up the backside.

Also, be *very* careful how thin you make your chains... make 'em too thin, and you'll break links in half until you're down from eight links to three... oh well...
