Default A sign that was made as a joke

Here is a sign I made as a suprise for a friend of mine.My wife and I do a lot of 18th century reenacting portraying Native Americans.A friend of ours is always being asked if she will help someone with their hair so she usually says that the salon is open.I finally made a sign to put out in the morning featuring a Native womans style wrapped hair and suprised her with it.Ithought you might enjoy seeing it also.

Nicely done. I used to love to make signs. I did a lot of them in Western Red Cedar. I carved the lettering in then I burned the edges and the face around the lettering. A bit of work on it with a wire brush with the grain made for some nice signs.

I really like the way that you did the background of yours. Did you use a wide #2 or #3 to do it? The effect is really nice.
