Default Shropshire Wood Shop

Hi All, recently returned from trip to England and had a wonderful time.
While there one of our travels took us to Coalbrookdale Telford Shropshire. We visited a victorian town called Blists Hill where demonstrators wore period clothing and demonstrated their various crafts.
Wouldn't you just know it I found the 'Woodshop' and enjoyed chatting with the demonstrators. I even bought their last little turned mouse, wish they would have had more I'd bought them all.
Anyway thought I'd share some images of the woodshop with you.
Glad to be back in the good old USA!
Best,
Kathy

Hi Corey and Gene thank you for commenting and yes we had a good time.
I forgot to include the little mouse I bought in the first image to the right of the pattern you can see it setting on a block of wood. It was turned from Oriental Sycamore London Plane. The ears and tail are leather, brass nails for the eyes.

That shop looks a lot like the one my great grandfather had. His turning lathe was made from Oak, and he made it himself. By the time I was old enough to remember he had converted it to an electric motor, but dad told me it was foot powered when he was a boy.

When my grandfather died each of the male grandsons got to pick tools and as the oldest I took great grandad's lathe. I still have it in the basement but it's not set up, it's just too big.
