Default Shoe 1/4 X 5/8's

Once again today I didnt want to carved anything that took too much time.

I once knew a young boy that said to himself,Id love to have a pair of shoes to wear,to help me climb this tree so I could see everywhere.

But he didnt have any shoes so to the top of tree he'd climb hanging on to the grape vines. At the top he'd lay back in the trees folk most all day dreaming of a pair of shoes that never came his way.

If I just had one,oh how happy I would be,as he was daydreaming and almost fell out of the tree. But I have alot of different types of shoes now but still love daydreaming looking at the clouds.

This little shoe is carved from a small block of old found curley maple wood, you can see the stripes in it but I hated when I carved more and there was a black streak running through the wood. Its 1/4 X 5/8's lightly stained.

Hope you might like it but dont try it on?? I did and now my toes are killing me!!

Thanks for looking,Forrest

Forrest, how do you carve such small projects?
Do you have help?
Elves, trolls or maybe tiny shoe cobblers?
Awesome work as usual!

GCH,Dave I used to work in a cobber shop, wasnt making shoes,I was eating cobber pies! lol
I do love a blackberry cobber,my grandmaw would make them.

Carving something small is easier for me,you notice I dont carve alot of big items. Smaller carving I find very easy plus my mistakes dont show as bad.

Thanks Dave for your always neat thoughts here.

Forrest

I've thrown chips away bigger than that shoe, Forrest. Great little carving, my friend. Keep 'em coming and thanks for sharing.

Forrest, I only just finished that pair of earrings which were commissioned. I hated doing stuff that small. My chainsaw just can't cope with it...LOL. A fine looking shoe you have there my friend and hope it helps you climb that tree to daydream of another to adorn the remaining bare foot. I think I will have to carve a small chainsaw to do my little stuff??? Thanks Forrest, Joe.
