Default Shell.....

I haven't yet figured out what this could be used for but....after seeing the shell that mark y showed a while back I figured I would try something along those lines. It was originally going to be a spoon but when i cut the block there was a knot that i knew was in the block that went in a direction i didnt expect. Again another little experiment that was a lot of fun.

Can't really tell from the size, but it looks like it would be good for ale. Kind of like a Norwegian Ale-goose.

Hidden knots can be fun. I Usually try to incorporate them in the design just to remind people that it is a real organic wooden carving.

Juhani, beautiful shell. You did a very good job on it. Looks to me like it could still be used as a spoon or, maybe, a scoop? Regardless, it's very pretty.

That really is pretty. You might want to measure how much it holds and substitute that beautiful piece for a measuring cup frequently used, like a coffee scoop or something.
The shell design is lovely. thanks for showing it to us.

Juhani, very nice clean carving, with this being Easter Sunday, it would be on my table full of colorful jellybeans, great job again. Bill

Juhani,
Very nice shell. I'm not sure how big it is but it looks like it would make a nice valet on a man's dresser for loose change, keys, etc.

Thanks for all the kind words. The scoop is about 3" x 5" x 1".
