Default Shawn Cipa Dragon

Hi guys , haven't posted anything in a while. this is a carving I just finished, it's just waiting to be painted. It is from on of Shawn Cipas book it is a Christmas presant for my grandson. I will post it again when I finish painting it. Hope you enjoy, comments are always welcome.

I just finished the dragon and it didnt look like that. One of us is wrong. I will check my pattern ;>)

Thanks for lookin guys and Nancy. I used a coping saw to cut downd to the V shape and then it was a battle with roughout knife NO. 3 & 5 Palm tools a little @#%& and git er done.

I did that dragon about a year ago out of Butternut. Your right the blank spot between the wings can be hard to carve, I couldn't get at it with even a coping saw without effecting the head. When I got it done I thought the butternut looked just right so I put an oil finish on it and set it on a shelf.

I went away for a week and when I got back swmbo decided it needed painting and now it's an irridescent blue and purple.
