| | Shaving horse My neighbor up the road a ways has a complete cabinet shop in his garage, when we talked about my wanting to build a shaving horse, he kept saying 'let's do it'! So today we started on it...it is going to be great! besides having the shaving horse on one end, I redesigned the plans I have seen and made a platform on the back for a pipe vise...the seat slides or will lift out and turn around so I can work on the vise, am really anxious to get it done! I think we will work it out after this is done to make it more transportable and mailable and make plans for it....will let you know...unfortunately I can't give the plans away, as he is involved, but will try to keep the price down. We will probably put one complete shaving horse on ebay and see what happens .. err that is if I can ever figure out ebay lol!..He also made a jig for his foredom handpiece that allows him to use it as a router for doing relief work..great idea too! I forgot to mention, he is a class A carver, all natural hardwoods....hates computers, so don't think I can get him on here...and thats too bad for us and him too!! ok, I know..I have rambled on enough!! New projects with fellow carvers are fun and I tend to get carried away ha ha!! |

| | Re: Shaving horse That's a good looking carving station Hi Ho! It should work well, easy on the back, adjustable and comfortable. Well done! Let us know how it turns out once the hardwear is in place and you get your first carving started on the vice.

| | Re: Shaving horse the flexdrum and the arbor for 5/8..a 1/2 adaptor and a second sleeve came from www.seyco.com ....however I found another site that sold all that plus a third sleeve for about 3 dollars more and no shipping if I remember right! so I will see if I can find that one for you....if not, the one I bought I believe was 32.00 approx. |
