| | | Re: Selling carvings LOL...that's okay, Steve...one of the joys of being the artist is that YOU get to decide what it is!! If others don't see it, well, hey...they just don't 'get it' ! LOL
I've carved many such carvings - if you have to, just get a big fat black marker and write 'Bunny' or whatever :-)

| | Re: Selling carvings Â* Â* Steve, I love whirligigs, I'll be looking forward to seeing some pictures! Â*Stick one on of your dollhouses too...after all, they are made of wood (right?!) and having made two of those (years ago), I'd be interested in seeing them too. Â*Callynne |

| | | Re: Selling carvings Callynne: My last dollhouse had a whirligig on the roof as a weathervane. My next dollhouse is for my next to last granddaughter and that is in Nov. And the best part, it's a 'Barbie sized house' forty six inches acrossed the front, 28 in. wide and thirty eight in tall, three stories with nine rooms and a circular staircase. And all handmade furniture, and a pool or spa I'm not sure which. What fun HUH.

| | | Re: Selling carvings Alarchie: Not nearly wonderful, but I am a sucker for my grandchildren. We have ten of them three girls and seven boys, and luckily they all live within twenty miles so we do see them regularly. Especially we baby sitters are needed. I am trying to get them into some type of hobbies. From collecting to carving (when older). I hope it will keep them occupied and not running the streets like I did as a kid.

| | Re: Selling carvings Â* Â* Your Grandchildren are lucky indeed! Â*The Barbie house sounds wonderful!! I made my daughter a doll house and my son a 'hunting camp', can't imagine making something as big as the Barbie house, definitely would love to see some pictures. Â*Callynne |

| | | Re: Selling carvings Callynne: The 'Barbie House' won't be finished until November, probably the day before Amanda's B'day. I have eleven Christmas presents to make including five mechanical whirlygigs. One of the will be a fisherman fighting a big bass, when the prop turns the fisherman and the bass will take turns moving up and down, sounds like fun.

| | | Re: Selling carvings AlArchie: Thanks, I'll try it.
My neighbor is in the process of cutting down a florida holly tree, or a pepper tree. Does any one know if this wood is any good to carve?.
When it dries it is very light in weight. The trunk is about
10 inches in diameter and 20 feet tall. I wonder, I have room in my shed. See again I need help.
Thanks
