Hey All, Does anyone know where I can buy self adhesive transfer paper that I can print on to transfer a pattern to wood? There was an article a few years ago on gun stock carving that used it. I am looking to use it as well. I just can't seem to find it.

Here's a start. Google "gunstock carving supplies" and see where that takes you. Here's one I found in about 30 seconds. Stencil Film 8 1/2"x11" (each) Hope this helps? Tim |

Don't know the answer to your question but I use a glue stick to glue transfer paper to my patterns. Seems to work very well. I cut out the pattern in a rectangle, apply glue, lay it on the carbon paper, then I trim it to the lines.

| I glue my patterns on to thin card board from cereal boxes. Then I cut them out and when done, I punch a hole in it so that I can hang it up on a hook for ready reference.

Rubber cement (found in stationary and craft stores) is another good method for gluing printed materials to your carving stock.

I agree with Bob. I use the rubber cement and ordinary printer paper. Speciality paper can be expensive, while rubber cement is cheap. Claude |

Bill Janney uses self adhesive films to put his patterns on gun stocks. He has his fish scale and basket weave patterns on the films, and they're part of the package of information he sells with a CD on carving gun stocks. Mike
