| | Re: What is searchco?? Sounds like you got yourself a spyware program. I ran a Google search and checked it out on a site called PestPatrol. You can download software to CARVE these programs out of your 'puter. I use SpyBot but PestPatrol has one too. Thankfully, crap like this doesn't happen to carving tools. |

zdnet.com
cnet.com
download .com
all offer some great free and shareware programs
look for adware, it is a free ad remover program
spybot and spy ware are both shareware but the trial version should get rid of any spy programs on your PC
also look for trojan remover, think it is shareware also but the trial version will find and eliminate any trojans you have.
hope this helps |

| | | Re: What is searchco?? Dave, try right clicking on youe internet explorer, then delete all files......then close out ALL your cookies and let them start over. somethin like this happened to me a ways back, and that seemed to clear it up. Once all the stored files and cookies are gone, the link to your browser is gone, and stuff should work right aagain.

| | Re: What is searchco?? OK found out where it was but not how it got there? I clicked on tools and searchco was listed as my home page?? Yesterday it flashed and asked if I wanted it for home page and I clicked no, apparently doesn't matter what you want...anyway, erased it and put dellnet back in and now is ok...don't know what the difference is between aol,msn and hackers...they all violate your computer!! ??? : :-/ |

| | | Re: What is searchco?? Computer Rape will soon be a recognized felony violation. I think they're just trying to figure out what the rules will be. I mean, have you ever seen a computer take the stand to testify against its rapist. ![001[1]3424](http://www.woodcarvingillustrated.com/forum/images/smilies/001[1]3424.gif) , really....they are often so emotionally overwhelmed, they just crash right there on the spot.

| | | Re: What is searchco?? Very true Â*and mine crashes way too often.
Last time the lil woman had downloaded something from AOL and she did not scan it first and it had another progrie piggy backing it. Wiped out both my hard drives even thought i keep Norton running and Norton firewall running all the time.
Took me 4 days to get all my programs back in. I use SBC/Yahoo browser with the pop up blocker enabled and Norton firewall blocker is enabled as well and all mail I get on my SBC is scanned with norton, but we keep Aol email account because she loves AOHELL browser and email. I hate it. AOL is suppose to prescan everything with McCaffee but I do not have the McCaffee installed because it conflicts with my Norton and My Norton firewall.
