| | Schooner carved from scraps. A friend was throwing out some scraps a few weeks ago and I never pass up free wood. They were small, (one 1 3/4" X 1 3/4" X 4 1/2", the other 4" X 4" X 1") ends from his turnings, but some nice looking wood. I'm not really sure what it is, hard as the dickens, but it finishes up nice. Butternut maybe, but harder?
I did the scene in two pieces, the schooner's hull and the sea is one piece and the sails as the other. Just something I wanted to try during the snowstorm here and see if it would work.

| | Re: Schooner carved from scraps. Well Squbrigg you have out done yourself.
I used to carve a lot of boats, mostly power boats.
The big go fast kind(Racing Boats)
and used lots of mahogany and teak.
I would say that is mahogany.
Great job.Makes me want to go reenlist in the
Navy.
