| | SCAM ALERT Hope this is ok to put on the board, if not tell me and I will delete it right away. But there is a scam going around, you receive and order for a carving, make the deal, then your asked to accept a cheque with the middle mans commission added to the total, You are asked to pay the middle man and ship the carving to the owner. Trouble is, their cheque comes back, and your stuck loosing a carving, and paying the middle man. The e-mail or scam, I was made aware of, came from Nigeria. |

| | | Re: SCAM ALERT Hugh,
Wow thanks a lot for the heads up I just go an email from Nigeria for one of my walking sticks. Mind you my mother didnt raise a dummy I told them to send me a money order for the full amount plus the shipping and once I had recieved it I would send the carving. I will make sure I have the money in my hand before I send the carving.
Thanks again

| | Re: SCAM ALERT Hey Colin,
Just be d--- sure the money order is legit before you ship the carving. Money orders have been known to be fraudulent also. Just a thought. I'll go back in my hole now. |

| | | Re: SCAM ALERT These a local classified board here in Missouri (Rolla) and there's always someone posting that they sold a car to someone with the same setup, they wound up in trouble for cashing a bad check and lost the cash they sent to someone. I like Paypal, Paypal/ebay aren't going to get taken to the cleaners so if you make a sale/purchase using them, you're about 99.99% safe! |

| | | Re: SCAM ALERT Ken have you ever been to the Elbow Inn? They've got the best BBQ in the state but you probably wouldn't want to bring your wife there. It's uniquely decorated in the Harley rider tradition. Polaroids of women's chests, a large assortment of ladies undergarments etc. It's great for lunch, but I don't think I'd go there on a Friday or Saturday night! |

Been back 16 years and am still trying to get permission to start buying parts :'( I did let her know I'm riding to Sturgis for my 50th birthday with or without her, on a bike I build or a new one, her choice, 3 years away!
I had a 1947 trike I custom built and I restored an old 45 flathead sportsolo. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
