| | I say YES to Study Sticks I went a little over board on buying Study Sticks, 5. Nose, Eyes, and Mouth. Santas Helper Face and a Wood Spirit Face. There is a World of difference between the sticks and a picture. You get a better perspective view with the sticks. Depth of cuts and angles that you can relate to your project. I surprised myself on my first try, for the better. In my mind the sticks are worth the expense, you will always have them and can relate back to them for reference.

I will send a photo if I can figure out how to do it . |

| | Re: I say YES to Study Sticks Merle, You know what's better than studying a study stick??? Making your own. Try taking the study stick of choice and carving one just like it. Start out with the first step, and crave each step. Great way to practice. Tom H |

Then when you get to feeling brave modify them a bit.

| | Re: I say YES to Study Sticks EdO, You are absolutely correct. The connection between my mind and fingers when typing the post must have got disconnected. The message that I was tryin to get at was that the best way to improve your carving technique and skill is to make your own study sticks. Tom H |
