Default Santa's helpers.

I decided to carve a few Christmas knomes and by the time I shut off the saw I had a bunch of wood to work with. My son's young car wandered off with three of the carvings and I haven't found them yet, he has a habit of hiding things.

I guess I'm going to hand them out to to unsuspecting people who have done good deeds. First one will be given to the dental hygenist who gave me a bunch of dental picks after we talked about using them in carving.

I have a few other ideas as well. On one of the figures when I started to carve the eye the wood just crumbled away and rather than use it as kindling, I decided to carve a eye patch and make him a one eyed helper.

Wow, quite a variety of looks and expressions. How fun to give them away to unsuspecting lucky people!

I'm curious to see what the back looks like, I'm working on one right now..hopefully I'll get it right.

The backs are hollowed out so that they are about 1/2" thick. It makes them light enough to hang on the tree.
