| | Safe storage of WCI magazines Hey Gang!
I just got the latest issue and its great!
I have ALL issues and have them stored in 3-ring binders, EXCEPT for the first few issues which do not have holes for putting in binders.
SO, how can I store the ones without holes in them... do I make holes in them (drill punch) or is there another way??
GaFred
P.S. No, they ain't fer sale or fer tradin |

| | Re: Safe storage of WCI magazines GeorgiaFred, you can buy plastic slides that have three holes punched in them, they are called "Magazine holders" they slip over the pages about half way through the magazine and the three holes hang out available to the three ring binder. I have over 20 years supply of Chip Chats stored this way.
Otherwise you could take the magazines to a stationary store/print shop and have them punch/drill the holes in the magazines for you...you have to go there anyway to get the Magazines holders.
My magazine holders were manufactured by Newell Office Products Co. in WI USA if thats any help.

| | Re: Safe storage of WCI magazines The plastic three-ring magazine holders are available at Wal-Mart in the stationery or office supply section. I buy several dozen at a time because I save every magazine in a 3-ring binder.
I buy plastic top loading sheet protectors to hold my random reference material because they also fit into 3 ring binders. |

| | Re: Safe storage of WCI magazines I use the shelf storage units for magazines. Some are plastic and some cardboard, and each will hold about a dozen magazines. Keep all my magazines stored this way, each to their own set and in order, you can still see the spines, so can find the issue you are searching for when you need to.

| | Re: Safe storage of WCI magazines I do like Bob. I have plastic holders that I keep all my carving magazines in two sets of bookcases. I sort them by year and label the front of the holder so I know at a glance which years are in each holder. I also use little "post it" notes/tabs to label articles so when I pull a magazine out, I can see what articles or carvings I wanted to reference when I first went through the publication. This was especially helpful before most carving/painting publications did a yearly index, but I still do it. It's a good project on a cold, snowy night! I also have one holder for catalogues--one for each reference source, etc. I know...I'm a packrat--but then, I have two file drawers of patterns and such that come in handy at times.

| | Re: Safe storage of WCI magazines Thanks for all the ideas!! I like the idea of using the plastic sleeves to hold the mags. I would sure hate to risk ruining issue #1 by drilling holes in it !!!

| | Re: Safe storage of WCI magazines You guys (and gals) are making me feel bad. I have an old wooden box that I try to keep my magazines in.......unfortunately, there are more spread out through the house than in the box. Actually, I am inspired by your posts - think I will make a point to get them organized and put in some type of binder or sleeves. |

| | Re: Safe storage of WCI magazines I'm like Mitchell, their in piles. Some by the bed, some in the living room, and some I'm not sure where. I've got books and magazines all over the place. Really need to get organized cause several times I've bought a book only to find out I already had it. Oh well, the carving club lucks out again! | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
