Hey Colin....they look good to me. Of course if you're not happy with them, you could always mail them here and I'll get rid of them for you, but your daughter has first dibbs!

Cool Re: What's everyone working on?

Right now I'm in the process of fixing our church's sign. I'm going to try to work in a celtic cross for the previously damaged area on the sign. I've already found a piece of red cedar 36"x20"x6". Now it's just a matter of making sure it looks right with the style of the original sign.

I spent the weekend sharpening a set of Record chisels I got 2 years ago for Christmas (don't ask

All I have right now is an 800 grit japanese waterstone an a 4000 grit waterstone, so it took some time, but I've gotten one bevel of my straight chisel almost sharp...when Record sent it out, the end was about 1/16" thick...I guess it wasn't factory sharpened.

Colin, Those are great faces and expressions. Nothing to be ashame of there IMHO. I always think I have set the eyes to deep but sometimes that is where some of the best expressions come from. Full speed ahead my friend. Hey can those be put on top of a walking stick? I have one of my first carvings of several santas on a stick like yours and thought many times of mounting that one on top of a stick. Mine was in aspen. If I can find it I'll post a picture of the faces. It would be for a good laugh.

I am at a stopping place and need to get my creativity started again and start on the Jayhawker for my cousin.
