Default Russian Carving

Fellow Woodcarvers, I found this on my woodworking forum and thought it might be of interest to all.

Even if you're not a carver you might want to
spend some time examining this mans amazing
work. Everything's in Russian - but click on the obvious links (in blue characters) and
explore each gallery. The man's son is posting
pics of his father's superb work - some of
which took 11 months to complete.

Vince that beautiful work I am very impressed. It would be nice if we could read it to know more about the carver. I would think he is a power carver but never the less one amazing artist. Thanks for posting

A very nice site. I used Babelfish(an online computer translator) on several of the descriptions with varying degrees of success. The more poetic the description the less intelligable the translation. The captions at the bottom of each piece generally give its title, the materials used and the size. But as carvings the work doesn't need translation, the skill is obvious, and just looking at the old lady's face makes me smile.

Boy, when you see work like that, that person is in a league of his own or even a sculptor in my opinion.I is a treat to see work like that but he set the bar very high for me.
