Do you carve with your left hand or right hand? Or both? Please participate in this poll and let us know. |

I'm envious of those can use both hands. There are many times it would be nice to use my left. Which do you use?

I'm left handed, but wish I could use my right hand for more than just holding the piece I'm carving.

I'm a righty. I'm not sure my body could sustain blood loss from BOTH hands.

Like I posted before, it's left hand or nothing. If I tried to carve with my right hand, I'd probably carve everything BUT the block of wood.

I occasionally use the left but 95% right. I used the left more when the piece was too big to turn easily, but only for initial stages! I wouldn't use it for the finishing stages

I am lucky to be truly ambidextrous. I can carve with either hand though I find that I tend to use a knife in my right hand and gouges in my left most often.

Quit bragging, Cliff.

Wwhen I'm carving the piece held in my hand, I carve completely right handed. But when I'm carving with the piece on my carving vise, and with gouges, I'll switch hands as needed.
