Great job. It is a real skill to work with such small detail . I bet you tie some great flys.

Richard, I just pictured the barrel, never dreamt of the trigger/firing mechanism (whatever you call it). Leave it to you to add even more detail. What a talent! Am in awe. I am someone who has difficulty sharpening a pencil, never mind carving one. As you have created a new genre, may I ask a few questions that you alone can answer? How difficult is pencil wood to carve? It looks a bit soft. Is there a brand of pencil that you recommend? (This is for all the Richard wannabes - good luck to em all) And have you tried different hardness of graphite (2h vs hb etc.) and is there one you prefer? ( I never in my life thought I would ever ask a carver that question) Thanks for sharing your whimsical new genre with us. Jay |
