THANKS for all your input it's greatly appreciated - my wife says she supports my time carving but I better find a method somewhat easier for her than 2 blocks labeled A & B ----- LOL LOL !!!

Read in a woodworking magazine this winter about the garbage bag and car exaust method. Suppose to work quite well and looks easy. Pipe the exaust fumes into a garbage bag holding your wood and the CO should kill the little kritters. Can't remember the details.

But, make sure you do it outside....wouldn't want you to be over come by fumes in your garage.

I always just put any wood that might possibly have insects in it in the oven on about 250 for about 10 minutes, and so far that seems to work.

David,I have an old deep freeze out side and I place
my driftwood in it wrapped in a plastic bag for a few days
That will take care of you bug problem.......Ron

Ughhhh, do I have to debug my cottonwood bark I just got?? I ordered it from Art and Dorothy Olver (great people, by the way!)! I have to finish up other projects before getting into it so I have time to use any method suggested. Preferably something other than the squashing one! Callynne

I know that you can boil Ruhbarb leaves and discard the leaves and put the liquid it in a spray bottle. It is a natural bug Killer. You have to get rid of the pot cause it is also not good for humans
