Talking Rick's Workbench

Rick,

I keep checking in to your site to see what's new on your workbench.

Since it hasn't changed since January 1, apparently you haven't been doing anything!

Well Mike,
I wouldn't say I haven't been doing anything, but I sure haven't done much carving.

Since I posted that picture of my workbench, I have completed four razor knives, made 90+ strops, sharpened 300+ tools, worked a full-time job, helped run a business, found time to answer posts here, maintained two websites, took care of two grandsons, and tonight went grocery shopping and cooked dinner.

Other than that, I have just been laying around being a couch potato.

I would love to carve, but unfortunately it is at the bottom of my to-do list.

I know Rick! That was just my tongue in cheek way of letting you know I check that page on a regular basis. It's a neat idea!

Is that one of the saddest quotes you ever saw or what?

And I thought taking care of my 10 month old daughter and working a full time job was a lot of work. Rick, you da man!

Mike, I knew you were just ribbing me.

Yes, it is a sad quote, but think of all the new carvers I have helped create over the last six years.

That is very rewarding to me.

Bob,
I get home from work around 9:00am TN time; I'd be happy to make sure you don't sleep too late.

Geez Rick, you must get bored with so little to do! I admire your stamina son, and your skill. I've been eye'n your knives, drooling over them in fact, but .....if I spent another dime on tools, I'm afraid the little bride would use it on me!!!

I also was thinking of all the new carvers that have been sent in your direction for help. You provide a great service, and it encourages the newcomers to carve a storm up. You also keep us old timers in proper trimming edge from time to time. Smile

You're doing a good job Rick and we appreciate it. Just posting here can take considerable time and effort, and you are always so encouraging.

We need to hold our own "Academy Awards" folks......and hand out a few Oscars, at least we can carve our own statues! What a shindig that could be!!! Everyone here in their best bib-overalls and carving aprons!! Wish I could travel.

Bob

Don't forget the two "group projects" that you organized, prepared, AND sent out....both of which will be coming back for you to finish (hopefully).
