Default RENEGADE WOODCARVERS ROUNDUP - Tuesday

Tuesday was another fantastic day for yours truly, as it was my day with the ever popular caricature carver 'Tom Wolfe'. Tom was one of the first carvers I tried to emulate when I was starting out - so this was a specal time for me.

Watching Tom carve an 'eye' in my Santa rough-out with total ease was a 'sight' to behold (I guess there's a pun in that statement somewhere).

I even enjoyed watching him help others knock out a bunch of 'dawgs' and hear him tell his tall 'tales' (that was another attempt of my untrained humor - sorry).

In the evening the event ran a trade blanket - lots of laughs. Tom and Gary (Falin) sure know how to play to the crowd.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement on my daily updates.

From seeing what goes on here, video taping would be a big job. You would probably need good recording equipment as the lighting isn't the best and it does get noisy . It would probably have to be done by someone other than a student - I wouldn't want to spend my time videoing . Perhaps the organizers should contact the magazine companies on events like this.
