Default RENEGADE WOODCARVERS ROUNDUP - Sunday

After a two day drive, I finally made it to Lebanon, Tn. at the Steve Brown's RENEGADE WOODCARVERS ROUNDUP . As you may recall these are the instructors for the 5 day event: Steve Brown, Tom Wolfe, Mark Akers, Gary Falin & Wayne Shinlever.

Around 6pm the doors opened for the attendees to purchase their rough-outs and to meet the instructors.

Here are a few photos to give you an idea what going on.

Ken, I was revisiting your first post on the roundup and had a question. Are you to purchase all of the roughouts for the entire week on your first day or just for your first instructor class? I would not know where to begin. Maybe one or two of everything they have.

From what I saw, the instructors were pretty well stocked with enough rough-outs. At this event the group had a Sunday night meeting which gave you a chance to meet all the instructors and to buy what you wanted early - best choice. Also each of the 5 days the instructors were on hand an hour early to answer questions and to sell tools and rough-outs - 2nd choice. Other than that you could buy antime during the day or night during the evening events.

So the bottom line, you could buy anything any time and as many as you liked. I would suggest however that you try not to interfer with the instructors during their time with the students - this time is to valuable to the student.

As for myself I bought 2 pieces from all 5 instructors. Now that I am home, I wished I bought 3 - Prices may be higher on-line and you could also save $ on shipping.

Here is the line-up of instructors for the Oct. 2011 Renegade Woodcarvers Roundup. Allen Goodman, Gary Falin, Floyd Rhadigan, Mike Shipley and Steve Brown. Carve one day with each instructor.
