Default Reference material

Hate to do this on WCI's board, but just got my premier issue of 'Carving Magazine' and it's a good one. With it, WCI, and 'Chip Chats' there's not much more a person would need for a reference library. Have a good assortment of articles by some pretty renowned carvers, full sized pull out patterns, etc... Worth checking out.

I would have to add Wildfowl Carving Magazine to the mix. Although it started out as a mostly decoy carving reference, in recent years it has expanded to cover all classes of birds although it is primarily oriented to water birds. It has articles that are applicable to all forms of carving and who knows it might inspire you to expand your carving horizons. To check it out, go to www.wildfowl-carving.com and enjoy. By the way Nancy, have you started/completed that first bird yet?

I must have a wacky mailing address, or something. I subscribed to both WCI and the new Carving Magazine, but have yet to receive my subscription copies of either. Lucky for me, kind souls have given me extra copies.

You're right about the reference library - these magazines are worth every penny and then some.
