Question Red Palm - Knife handles & Finish?

I was recently given a nice piece of Red Palm but I don't know much about the type of material. I really like the way it looks & thought it would make a nice set of knife handles. So, a couple of questions:
1. would it be a decent choice for knife handle slabs (this is a small knife)?
2. how well does it take glue? I use 50min 2-part epoxy usually
3. For a finish, since I like the grain - I was thinking just tung oil? But not knowing the wood, I don't know it has a high wood oil content or not?
suggestions...

Default Re: Red Palm - Knife handles & Finish?

I was directed to my answer. No need to respond. F.Y.I. the answer was it can make good knife handles. Depending on the density (inner wood or outer - outer preferred) a sanding sealer is recommended prior to any finish.
