Here is a small decorative bowl that I just finished carving out of a scrap piece of 1" thick quartersawn Red Oak lumber. The bowl is patterned after a Northern Red Oak leaf and is 5" wide by 8" long. I carved a pair of acorns under the leaf stem for visual interest. All the carving was done by hand with gouges and knife. No sanding was done. The leaf was finished with 2 coats of Minwax Antique Oil and a coat of Johnsons Paste wax. Thanks for looking. |

Oah leaf out of oak. Nicely carved and finished. Not many uses the Johnson paste floor wax anymore.Still a effective finish by the looks of yours.
