Default Red Hat Society Gift

Hello friends,
Sorry i haven't been on for a while or shared much lately but as ya'll know work keeps us busy, as it is me.
The wife is a member of the Salvation Army's Women's League and the secret Santa exchange is coming up among the ladies, my wife's is a Red Hat Society lady. The wife asked me a couple weeks ago to carve her a hat that could be worn as a pendent and as normal i kept putting it off to the back burner of my carving bench. Well while winter cleaning yesterday i got cornered about the pendent, no more putting it off.

Well as you can see this is the result. it only took me a couple of hours to carve and came out better than i thought it would. I've got some finishing touches to put on the paint and then clear coat it, oh and i have to find a pin so it can be worn. The wife loves it, i hope the receiver does too.

Took the pics in macro so ya'll could see the detail and my boo boo's.

Good idea.
My wife is in the Red Hats, too. Because of her age, she's restricted to being a "pinky". I've never seen them in action, but, some of the things i hear are down-right scary!!!(lol).
I might have to try one of these for her. Since I don't paint, I guess I'll have to start looking for the right colored wood.
Thanks for giving me another project.
Dan
