Kenny, does he have a beard it's heard to tell in the picture. Maybe you could out line it deeper with a v- tool. otherwise it looks great to me.

MA, burning and carving is not the same as playing with matches and knives.

He looks pretty good, Kenny. I really like the way you brought his hat out of the wood. If I had a suggestion, it would be to GO DEEPER. If you think you've gone deep enough, go deeper! That would give you the chance to give the old boy an epic nose! Remember Cyrano de Bergerac! The nose is the monument of the soul. Or something.

Hi Kenny, your Johnny Reb looks good to me. I like the facial expression and very well carved. I also, like that you left the natural color of the Butternut. It's a great wood to carve.

Thank you ar for the encourageing words.

Feb, there is a beard, hard to tell in the picture. I will try an antiqueing on it to bring out the beard.

Bob, Thanks for the go deep sugestion, I will try to on the next piece.

Corey, Thanks, Yes it would be a same to hide the natural beauty of the butternut.

Jim, Thank you for your nice comments. I appreciate them and take ithem as encouragement to do better.

Kathy, I was trying for a Haunting look Maybe I did and maybe I didn't. Thank you also for your nice Comments

Gene, Thanks you also and I guess a class in photography 101 is in order. I have a Portable lighting studio I need to start using.
